St. Jude Iraq currently provides aid and assistance in Erbil-Ankawa, Baghdad, Dahok, Alqoosh, Sulayamaniya and in the surrounding area. Our mission only helps children in Iraq.
We provide funding for Emergency Surgeries for children. Their stories are published on our social media and we are working on publishing each story on our website.
We provide transportation for 132 high school students to get to and from school. Many children would have to walk miles to get to school in unsafe zones of territory. We want to ensure that all the children of Iraq are kept safe, especially when trying to get an education and decided to pick up this project.
We provide monthly sponsorship for over 250 children in Iraq, sending each child $100.00 each month. These are the children who are orphans and either lost one parent or both, live in markets (yes, the floor of a market), rental homes or in overcrowded homes with extended family members. These children and their families can’t afford nutritious meals.
We also fund a kindergarten school. After ISIS attacked, many schools in Iraq shut down because it was unsafe for children to attend school. In the recent months, schools have opened up again and children are able to go back to school. The kindergarten school wanted to charge children’s to attend after already facing financial difficulties, so St. Jude Iraq picked up this project as well.
